Future of Mini: the Concept Car

On June 16, 2016 BMW unveiled a Mini concept car that will practically defy your expectations. No it is not a flying Mini Cooper, but it is certainly eye-catching and looks a bit like a Jetsons-esque vehicle.

The Specs

The future of cars is growing rapidly and it is certainly noticeable, from rear view cameras to sensors alerting you of vehicles on your blind side, cars are becoming more safe.

Driver-less

This Mini concept car has a steering wheel, but it is not necessary for it to be used. It is there for when passengers get bored of the sights and getting driven around by a computer. What’s cooler is that like a sci-fi movie, you can slide the steering wheel over to your passenger for them to take a turn.

Silver-wrapped

The Mini concept car is wrapped in a special silver material that will be a blank display for any color or pattern, meaning you always have the option of driving in a red Mini or a checkered Mini.

Futuristic Doors

The Mini concept car doesn’t have Lambo doors but instead has doors that slide open. These feature will make parking in tight spaces no hassle at all.

Inside The Car

The inside of the car is another spectacle. The colors of the lights, like the blank display on the outside, can also be changed. Instead of the regular digital dashboard, there is a unique circular display that will greet you and you can personalize. It will also do the regular things like play music. There is also an “Inspire Me” button that you can push when you need suggestions.

The coolest feature inside the Mini concept car is the windshield projector. This projector would project things such as directions right in front of you, kind of like being inside the Iron Man suit.

Personalization

The Mini concept car offers many personalization settings such as the Mini greeting you with personalized lighting when you approach it. Not only does it awesomely greet you, but it is also identifying and confirming you as the driver.

Tiny

The car’s tiny look is actually deceptive. This Mini concept car is the same size as a classic.

The future of Mini is exciting and definitely something to look forward to. From driving with your own personalized logo on the outside display to passing the wheel on to your date, the possibilities are endless.
