If you’re looking for fun ways to celebrate St. Paddy’s Day in the LA area, you’re in luck. With options ranging from pub crawls and festivals to musical events and cooking classes, there’s truly something for everyone. Here’s a quick rundown of some of the most popular events happening this year.
St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl and Beer Garden
Arguably LA’s biggest party of the year, the annual St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl in downtown LA is one you definitely won’t want to miss! Your ticket price will get you exclusive discounts at 10 different bars and nightclubs, drink tickets, shot vouchers, a St. Patrick’s Day necklace, and a map of all the bars and clubs participating in the crawl.
Check-in starts at the giant LA Biergarten, located at 750 S. Broadway. You can kick off your day here with 100 beers on tap and a free welcome shot — then party the day (and night) away!
Get Lucky Festival
The Get Lucky Festival is another enormous event held in downtown LA at Pershing Square. During this 21-and-over event, you’ll enjoy beer, food, games, prizes, live 80’s bands, and more!
Hermosa Beach St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival
If you enjoy parades, plan to head over to Hermosa Beach for an epic event that attracts close to 20,000 spectators. There will be more than 100 schools, businesses, and other groups marching in the parade. You can expect to see floats, horses, bagpipe players, and even the Irish Setter club with all their furry friends!
The parade kicks off by City Hall on Valley Drive. It will then head down Pier Avenue for about seven blocks. After the parade is over, head down to Pier Plaza where there will be a stage featuring Irish bands and step dancers.
Santa Monica St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl
If you enjoy spending your time in Santa Monica, then head over there for the bar-hopping pub crawl. At least a dozen area bars are participating with free entry and great drink specials. There will also be a live DJ spinning dance music!
Greg Fitzsimmons Annual St. Patrick’s Day Show
Not a big drinker? No problem! If you’re 18 or older, you can laugh the night away at Hollywood Improv’s Main Room. Greg Fitzsimmons is guaranteed to put on a show that you won’t soon forget. You can also book a dinner reservation which will require to arrive an hour before the show.
Flogging Molly at Hollywood Palladium
Is live music your thing? If so, mark your calendars for Tuesday the 17th! Irish-American Celtic punk/rock band Flogging Molly is headlining a show at the Hollywood Palladium on Sunset Boulevard.
Outdoor concert will feature various musical artists, Irish dancers, food trucks, beer, games, photo ops, and more. This 21-and-up event is free! You can RSVP using this link.
