Where to see Fireworks this 4th of July in LA area

Los Angeles Fireworks 2021

As the world opens back up, it’s time to start celebrating the holidays once again! This year, the big fireworks celebrations are back, and we couldn’t be more excited.
No matter where you’re at in the LA area, there’s bound to be a great display just a short drive away — so hop in your BMW and take it for a ride to one of these top local fireworks shows.

Hollywood Bowl

The Hollywood Bowl hosts a fantastic 4th of July party every year, and this year you’ll get to celebrate with Kool & the Gang. They’ll bring the disco-funk while Thomas Wilkins and the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra please you with their patriotic favorites.
Cheap-seats start at just $20, but you may want to consider springing for closer tickets so you can enjoy a great view of the show as well as the dazzling fireworks finale. This event is held on Saturday, July 3rd, and gates open at 6 pm.

Marina del Rey

There’s something even more awe-inspiring about watching a fireworks show reflect off the ocean. This is one reason why the fireworks at Marina del Rey are so popular. You can catch this 10-minute show from the area’s waterfront restaurants and hotels, or watch from your boat. You can also enjoy it with synchronized music, which will be played over loudspeakers at Fisherman’s Village and Burton Chace Park.
The show will launch from a barge off the Marina’s south jetty. You can park in nearby county lots, but you’ll want to arrive early to find a spot. The fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9 pm on Sunday, July 4th.

Disneyland

After taking a hiatus from fireworks displays, Disneyland is celebrating Independence Day by re-debuting the laser and projection show “Micky’s Mix Magic,” complete with a firework-filled pyro show. You’ll need a reservation if you plan to visit Disneyland right now. However, if you find yourself nearby, you’ll still be able to catch the fireworks portion of the show.

Huntington Beach

The annual 4th of July celebration at Huntington Beach Pier is back this year! Celebrate America’s birthday with a three-day festival complete with a parade, a 5k race, live entertainment, tasty food, and family-friendly fun. This event has been celebrated for over 117 years and attracts more than 500,000 attendees — making it the largest 4th of July celebration west of the Mississippi.
You’ll definitely want to stick around for the world-famous Fireworks Over the Ocean display. It kicks off on the 4th at 9 pm and will end with an incredible 500-round finale.

Rose Bowl

The “AmericaFest” celebration at the Rose Bowl doesn’t start until 9 pm on the 4th, but the festivities begin far earlier. It will include a kid-friendly carnival and an in-stadium program including impressive motocross stunts. With an admission cost of $45 a person, this is one of the more expensive options. However, you can turn it into an all-day celebration by tailgating outside the stadium earlier in the afternoon.
If you want to enjoy the fireworks without paying an entry fee, you’ll be able to see it from the neighborhoods west of the 210 and areas around the Arroyo. A little further away, you may also be able to catch some of the show from Old Pasadena’s parking garage rooftops.

Long Beach

The July 4th celebrations over Queensway Bay start on Sunday at 9 pm. You can catch this free show from most of the waterfront attractions on Long Beach. For an even more exciting view, consider booking a Harbor Breeze Cruise. They’ll have three different boats departing from Rainbow Harbor on the 4th, and you can catch a ride for just $50 a person.

Hollywood Forever Cemetery

Grab a blanket and your favorite people and head out to Hollywood Forever Cemetery for a fun celebration you won’t soon forget. Packing a boozy picnic and heading to Cinespia’s cemetery screenings is a rite of passage in the LA area.
They’re showing Dazed and Confused on July 3rd and Dirty Dancing on the 4th. After each movie is over, you can expect a fun and exciting firework-filled after-party. Make sure you get there early, as these are sure to be some of the summer’s most popular shows.
We’re thrilled for the opportunity to gather together and celebrate Independence Day once again. No matter where you decide to catch the fireworks this year, please remember to respect one another and celebrate safely!
